Making Motors More Energy Efficient

AC Induction Motors motors literally are everywhere! Almost every mechanical movement that you see around you is caused by an AC (alternating current) electric motor.

They are everywhere and used by everyone. However, they have a fundamental flaw – they often waste unnecessary amounts of energy. An incredible 50% of the world’s energy production is consumed by motors!

London Olympics Lack Energy Saving Plan

LOCOG, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games currently do not have an energy-saving strategy. They have vowed to make this years games the greenest Olympics and Para-Olympics to date.

The Commission for a Sustainable London (CSL) 2012 have called for these issues to be addressed urgently, as there is a window of opportunity to make for lost time.
